Besides Still Waters Farm B&B celebrated its 1st year in business by hosting an Open House. Local residents had an opportunity to tour the large cottages set in 21 acres of forest and pastures which offer privacy and luxuary spa amenities. Guests can enjoy oversized whirlpool tubs, aromatherapy steam-showers, foot-spas and other luxury items.

Diane Pearson, innkeeper of Pearson’s Pond B&B, Juneau, Alaska adds wedding planner and marriage commissioner to her many duties. Diane marries 50 couples a year, many of them on a glacier, arranging the small details such as the helicopter transport, cake, champayne and roses. She also hikes with the couple to the perfect spot on the glacier for the marriage.

A 145-year-old home that had come close to being demolished has been restored and converted into a bed-and-breakfast. Odds and ends must be completed before the grand opening of The Inn at the Old Republic on Thursday. But that’s nothing compared to the lobbying, grant-writing, hauling, sanding, painting and drywalling it has taken over the past seven years to restore the Italianate mansion, historical society members say.
