Goat River Lodge is situated just 5 minutes drive from Creston in the beautiful Creston Valley. Spectacular views to the east over Goat River Canyon to the Purcell Mountains, with Selkirk Mountains to the west and southerly views through the valley into Idaho.

The Lodge is approached through its own 6 acre orchard, where over a hundred fruit and nut trees take their turn to ripen; cherries, apricots, plums, pears, apples, hazelnuts and walnuts.

The local Information Centre is about 3 kms away on Highway 3, the main route of travel through the southern Canadian Rockies.

Kootenay Lake, Creston Wildlife Reserve, Nelson, the U.S. Border (U.S. Hwy 21) are all on the doorstep.

Creston is part of the acclaimed International Selkirk Loop.

The house is a large 7-bedroomed property with walk-out basement, 3 bedrooms of which are self-contained with private entrances.This part of the house was purpose built. Each has its own outdoor seating area with fabulous views and all are en-suite. There is a separate guest breakfast room adjacent to a large covered verandah that overlooks the pool and orchard. The outdoor pool, 16′ x 40′, is close to the house, fenced and secure with small pumphouse and changing rooms. There is a pool shower and ample space for tables, chairs and sunbeds around the pool area.

Outbuildings include a dutch barn with a stable, an underground root cellar, workshop and sheds. There are deer trails that lead down to the river’s edge.
