What is a blog?

One of your first questions may be, ‘what the heck is a blog’? Well the word came from combining web with log, but to be honest we don’t think is a very pretty sounding word. For all intensive purposes we think of ourselves of an online magazine that will be updated on a daily basis.

This type of website allows us to syndicate ourselves so you can pull up a summary of what we’ve written on a reader such as Bloglines. A reader gives you a summary page of all the topics covered.

Please feel free to give us a buzz if you would like to learn more about blogs. If we get a few interested B&B’s we’ll post a series of tutorials.

A blog/online magazine could be a great way to keep in touch with your clients new and old.

‘Certified Check’ Scam

Thank you to Susan Callahan from the Bear Paw Inn for this heads up. An email will arrive saying they would like to book an extended stay at your establishment. Then they’ll send ‘certified check’ for more than the required amount asking you to forward the extra cash to someone. The certified check bounces and you’re out the cash.

Apple and Spice B&B

Canmore, Alberta

This custom designed 2-story home has operated as a B&B since new in 1996 and enjoys repeat clientele. Classic colours (Wedgwood blue) and finishing, 3 bedrooms (all with ensuite), 2 decks, natural (forested) back yard, and a huge kitchen and dining area with 14 foot ceilings give this home a classy yet inviting feel. The smaller kitchen on the ground floor could easily be converted into an additional bedroom with its own ensuite (plumbed in and currently used as a darkroom), bringing the total number of bedrooms with baths to 4. A single garage with plenty of storage, large windows and breathtaking views complete this 1900 square foot home. Please visit our two websites for more photos.
